The 21st KKBOX Music Chart Awards took place tonight, with Crowd Lu competing for the Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Male Singer with his song "Heartbreak Breakfast". He expressed gratitude to the judges for recognizing his vocal progress, sharing that he was once criticized for his appearance and singing ability during his early career, and that his continuous pursuit of improvement is also a way to stand up for his fans.
Crowd Lu performed a love medley at Taipei Arena, featuring his signature songs "What's Wrong with Love?", "Fish", and "A Fraction", along with "Sun and Earth" from his latest album. In a backstage interview, he mentioned that the medley was a segment from his current tour, and he was happy that attendees who hadn’t seen his full concert could still enjoy it tonight.
Regarding his third nomination for the Golden Melody Awards' Best Mandarin Male Singer, Crowd Lu said, "I'm really happy! Being nominated for the third time means the judges must have noticed my vocal progress." He candidly admitted that in the early days of his career, he heard from fans that he was mocked online as "so ugly and sings so badly." However, he has consistently worked on improving his singing skills. "I want fans to proudly say, 'I love Crowd Lu,' and have others respond with praise. This progress is for myself and for them," he said.
Meanwhile, singer Pets Tseng performed her hits "Someone Thinking of Someone" and "Count to Ten". Recently, she fell ill due to intense training while participating in the Chinese variety show "Ride the Wind 2026". In tonight’s interview, she said her voice is still slightly hoarse. "The best thing for my throat is rest. I’ll continue to take good care of myself and won’t take it lightly," she added. (Edited by Li Heng-shan)
