Tsai Ming-You Throws Complete Game Shutout Without a Walk, Chiayi City Fights Back to Victory in Elimination Bracket

(Taiwan News Reporter Hsieh Ching-Wen, New Taipei, June 13) In today's Yu-Shan Cup youth baseball tournament, Chiayi City's ace pitcher Tsai Ming-You delivered a complete-game shutout without issuing a single walk, leading his team to a 2-0 victory over Hsinchu City and preserving their chances of advancing from the elimination bracket. Tsai said every elimination game requires an all-or-nothing mindset, and he aimed to energize the team's morale.

In the 115th Yu-Shan Cup, Chiayi City faced Hsinchu City in the elimination round. Chiayi scored first in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Shih Cheng-You hit a triple, followed by a sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the 3rd, with two outs, a walk and Chu Wei-Hao's triple added an insurance run.

Chiayi City started ace pitcher Tsai Ming-You, who threw 84 pitches over 7 innings, allowing only 3 hits and recording 5 strikeouts with no walks and zero runs, shutting out Hsinchu City and securing a crucial win.

Tsai said he had never faced Hsinchu City before and focused on mixing off-speed pitches with fastballs to keep hitters off balance, relying on his defense for support.

Chiayi City played two games in one day. They lost their morning opener to Yunlin County, dropping into the elimination bracket. In the afternoon game against Hsinchu City, Tsai said being in the elimination round wasn't pressure but rather motivation to give their all in every game and lift the team's spirit.
