Central News Agency Report
(Taipei, June 13, CNA reporter Chao Min-ya) CPC Corporation, Taiwan announced today that gasoline and diesel prices will remain unchanged from 12:00 AM on June 15 to 11:59 PM on June 21. Since the outbreak of the U.S.-Iran war on February 28, CPC estimates that the cumulative amount absorbed for gasoline and diesel price differences has reached NT$17.63 billion as of June 14.
CPC's reference retail prices for gasoline and diesel are as follows: Unleaded 92 gasoline at NT$32.4 per liter, Unleaded 95 at NT$33.9, Unleaded 98 at NT$35.9, and Premium Diesel at NT$31.
CPC stated that due to ongoing instability in the Middle East, international oil prices remain at relatively high levels, with crude oil prices rising as much as 30% compared to pre-war levels. Many countries continue to provide subsidies amid significant price volatility, and CPC is stabilizing domestic fuel prices through its U.S.-Iran war special stabilization mechanism.
CPC noted that, considering the estimated NT$17.63 billion absorbed between February 28 and June 14, as well as fuel subsidy conditions in neighboring Asian countries, gasoline and diesel prices will remain unchanged from June 15 to June 21. Diesel prices will continue to absorb a differential of NT$1.2 per liter. Fuel prices in Taiwan remain the lowest among neighboring Asian countries, aiming to minimize impacts on daily life and industrial operations while maintaining domestic price stability.
