(Central News Agency reporter Wu Shu-wei, Taipei, June 13) The Army's Dongyin Area Command announced today that an officer surnamed Huang was suspected of self-harm inside the barracks in the early hours. He was discovered by fellow soldiers, and personnel with EMT1 certification within the unit performed CPR before he was transported to a medical facility. His breathing and heartbeat were restored, and he was airlifted by medical evacuation aircraft to Tri-Service General Hospital in Neihu, Taipei, early this morning. His vital signs are currently stable.

The Dongyin Command has immediately contacted the officer's family to inform them of the situation and dispatched officers to the hospital to assist. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by the command. At this stage, the priority remains supporting the injured officer’s treatment.
