(CNA reporter Huang Yu-ching, Pingtung County, June 13) A residential fire occurred early this morning in Wanluan Township, Pingtung County. Firefighters rushed to the scene and swiftly extinguished the fire, discovering the charred remains of a male victim inside the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by fire investigators.

According to the Pingtung County Government Fire Bureau, at 12:56 AM today, they received a report of a fire at a residence on Xisheng Road in Wanluan Township. Fire units from Wanluan, Neipu, Taiwu, and Chaozhou stations were dispatched, totaling 8 vehicles, 16 firefighters, and 2 civilian responders.

The Fire Bureau reported that at 1:14 AM, Neipu Station squad leader Chiu Chih-wei confirmed the fire had been extinguished and that one charred male body, approximately 80 years old, had been found inside the house. The burned area measured about 1 square meter. The exact cause of the fire is still under further investigation by fire investigators. (Edited by Li Hsi-chang) 1150613
