By Central News Agency reporter Huang Chiao-wen, Taipei, June 13 The Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) Pingxi Line was temporarily disrupted this afternoon due to a rockfall, halting service between Jingtong and Shifen. TRA stated that after engineering crews cleared the rocks and inspected the tracks, the line was confirmed safe by 2:30 PM, allowing normal train operations to resume and road shuttle services to be canceled.
TRA announced via alert that at 1:24 PM today, a rockfall was reported on the Pingxi Line between Wanggu and Lingjiao at kilometer marker K8+400. To ensure safety, train service between Jingtong and Shifen was immediately suspended, and engineering units were dispatched for emergency inspection and response. Road shuttle services were activated for the affected section.
After on-site rock clearance and track inspection by engineering staff, the line was confirmed clear by 2:30 PM. Normal train operations resumed immediately, and road shuttle services were canceled.
