(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 11) The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) announced today that, excluding the financial and insurance industry and Mercuries & Associates Holding, the remaining 1,047 listed companies had completed their May revenue filings by June 10. The total May revenue of all the aforementioned listed companies amounted to NT$4.8806 trillion, a significant increase of 34.12% compared to the same period last year. Among them, 691 companies reported revenue growth, while 356 companies reported a decline.

The TWSE further analyzed that industries with larger revenue growth in May included the electronics distribution industry, benefiting from AI applications and next-generation memory demand; the oil and gas industry, where product prices were pushed up by the Middle East conflict and transportation route blockades; and the green energy and environmental protection industry, which recognized revenue from engineering projects based on progress.

The industry with declining revenue in May was the cement industry, due to competition from low-priced imported cement and slowing demand in the Chinese market.

For the first five months of this year, the total revenue of all listed companies amounted to NT$22.6163 trillion, a 29.01% increase year-on-year. Among them, 643 companies reported revenue growth, and 404 companies reported a decline.

The TWSE stated that industries with larger revenue growth in the first five months of this year included the electronics distribution industry, benefiting from AI applications and next-generation memory demand; the building materials and construction industry, recognizing revenue from property handovers; and the computer and peripheral equipment industry, benefiting from AI server demand.

Industries with larger revenue declines in the first five months included the cement industry due to competition from low-priced imported cement and slowing demand in the Chinese market; the sports and leisure industry due to sluggish market demand; and the electrical and cable industry, where customer project progress affected delivery schedules.
