TAIPEI (Central News Agency, reporter Yeh Su-ping) — The Presidential Office announced today the list of nominees for the 7th Control Yuan President, Vice President, and members. The President has submitted an official communication to the Legislative Yuan, requesting the exercise of its consent authority.
Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim announced that President Lai Ching-te has nominated Chen Yung-hsing, former president of the Taiwan Association for Human Rights, as President of the Control Yuan and concurrently Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission. Wang Jung-chang, current Control Yuan member, has been nominated as Vice President. Additionally, 27 individuals, including Liao Wan-ju, Chairperson of the Pingtung Urban and Rural Development and Education Foundation, have been nominated as Control Yuan members, aiming to establish a people-centered Control Yuan. Final appointments will require approval by the Legislative Yuan.
The Presidential Office released a press statement in the evening confirming that the presidential communication has been delivered to the Legislative Yuan for consent proceedings.
The communication states that the term of the 6th Control Yuan members will expire on July 31, 2026. In accordance with Article 7, Paragraph 2 of the Additional Articles of the Constitution, Article 3-1 of the Control Yuan Organization Act, and Article 3 of the Control Yuan National Human Rights Commission Organization Act, the following 29 individuals are nominated as members of the 7th Control Yuan:
Chen Yung-hsing, Wang Jung-chang, Kao Tien-hui (Eleng Tjaljimaraw), Chang Chu-fang, Chang Feng-yi, Lin Hui-fang, Sun I-hsin, Li Li-fen, Chen Ching-chun, P’eng Shao-chin, Liao Wan-ju, Yeh Yi-chin, Lin Li-ying, Hou Ting-chang, Lee Kuang-chang, Lin Wen-cheng, Lai Ting-ming, Chiu Chun-yen, Hsu Kuang-jung, Chiu Tai-yuan, Lai Chen-chang, Chuang Sheng-jung, Wu Tzu-sheng, Wang Chih-cheng, Iban Nokan, Hsieh Cheng-da, Lin Chia-fan, Hsu Yu-wei, and Chao Ching-hui.
Chen Yung-hsing is nominated as President and concurrently Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission; Wang Jung-chang as Vice President. Seven nominees — Wang Jung-chang, Kao Tien-hui, Chang Chu-fang, Chang Feng-yi, Lin Hui-fang, Sun I-hsin, and Li Li-fen — qualify under Paragraph 7, Article 3-1, Paragraph 1 of the Control Yuan Organization Act, and their appointments will be confirmed upon legislative consent.
