Key News on US-Iran Conflict

(Central News Agency, Washington, 11th – comprehensive international report) The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today that a U.S. military aircraft struck a tanker attempting to breach the blockade on Iranian ports early Tuesday morning. This marks the third such strike this week and the ninth since the blockade began on April 13.

According to AFP, the incident occurred at 11:20 PM Eastern Time yesterday (11:20 AM Taiwan time on the 11th), when a tanker flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau, an African nation, attempted to transport oil through the Gulf of Oman and was struck early Tuesday morning local time.

CENTCOM stated that after the tanker’s crew repeatedly failed to comply with U.S. military instructions, a U.S. military aircraft fired two Hellfire missiles at the vessel’s engine room.

The U.S. military also reported that since the blockade on Iranian ports began, it has redirected 135 vessels that complied with instructions and allowed 42 humanitarian aid vessels to pass through. (Compiled by: Zhang Zhengqian) 1150611
