(Taipei, June 11, CNA by reporter Chen Jung-chen) At the WTA Libéma Open held in the Netherlands, Taiwanese player Wu Fang-hsien and her Japanese partner Eri Hozumi advanced to the women's doubles semifinals today after overcoming a 'match tiebreak' in their quarterfinal clash. They won 7-5, 0-6, 10-7 to secure their spot in the final four.

The Libéma Open is a WTA 250-level tournament. Seeded fourth in women's doubles, Wu and Hozumi faced the Polish-Czech duo of Katarzyna Piter from Poland and Anna Siskova from the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals. They took the first set 7-5, but encountered turbulence in the second set, losing 0-6 in a 'bagel' set.

However, due to rain interruptions forcing a suspension, the match resumed today. Wu and Hozumi demonstrated strong composure and adaptability in the deciding third set 'match tiebreak' (first to 10 points). They broke their opponents' serve early to lead 4-1, then extended their advantage with three consecutive points, ultimately sealing the victory 10-7 to reach the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the 'Dwarf Duo' pairing of Taiwan's 158cm 'firecracker' Liang En-shuo and 154cm Japanese player Shuko Aoyama continued their red-hot form from their recent French Open semifinal run. In today's quarterfinal, they defeated their opponents 6-1, 6-4 to also advance to the semifinals.

Liang and Aoyama will next face the Czech-Russian pair of Anastasia Detiuc and Irina Khromacheva for a spot in the championship match. (Edited by Chen Yen-chun) 1150611
