The Taitung County Government issued a press release today stating that following the victory of the Chinese team in the 2024 WBSC Premier12 and the win against South Korea in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, which reignited a nationwide baseball craze, this wave of excitement is set to return to the birthplace of baseball.

The annual event '2026 Taitung Expo,' organized by the Taitung County Government, will be held grandly from July 3 to August 20. The 'Above the Red Clay' baseball exhibition, serving as the 'advance vanguard' of the expo, was held for 16 days at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, attracting over 20,000 visitors. The exhibition will move to the 'Taitung Baseball Village First Baseball Stadium' starting July 3, inviting people from across the country to experience the purest baseball spirit in Taitung this summer.

Taitung County Magistrate Rao Ching-ling stated that Taitung, known as the 'hometown of baseball,' has cultivated many outstanding professional baseball players and national-level athletes, making it a crucial baseball county in Taiwan. The 'Above the Red Clay' baseball exhibition concluded successfully at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, receiving enthusiastic responses from all sectors. The aim is to showcase Taitung's fruitful achievements and pride in sports talent cultivation to the nation, and to allow urban residents to experience the glory and pride of Taitung baseball firsthand.

The Taitung County Government Education Department stated that through rich artifacts and historical photos, the exhibition showcases the glorious era of Taitung baseball development from the Japanese colonial period to the post-war period. The exhibition continues to feature the game-worn jerseys of Taitung native players, including 'Minister of National Defense' Chang Yu-cheng, from the 2026 World Baseball Classic. These jerseys, carrying Taiwan's passion and excitement, will be displayed again, allowing fans to relive the supreme honor of the classic's highest殿堂.

In addition to static exhibits, to enhance visitor interaction, a pitching experience area has been set up. Using sports science equipment to track the ball's trajectory, it provides real-time analysis of key indicators such as speed, spin rate, spin efficiency, and axis angle, allowing visitors to experience professional-level scientific testing firsthand.
