(Central News Agency, reporter Cai Mengyu, Kaohsiung, 10th) The 'Extreme Challenge' ride at E-DA Theme Park experienced an abnormality this morning, leaving riders stranded for over a minute. E-DA Theme Park stated that due to rain, the contact surface between the track and the ride vehicle became slippery, causing the anomaly. After inspection and handling, normal operation has resumed.

A visitor posted on the social media platform Threads that while riding the 'Extreme Challenge' in the rain today, they were suddenly stuck at the top for 1 minute and 44 seconds. Upon descent, the ride could only slide and could not brake.

In response, E-DA Theme Park issued a statement explaining that around 10 a.m., during the operation of the 'Extreme Challenge' ride, due to weather conditions, the contact surface between the track and the vehicle became slippery. This caused the equipment to detect an anomaly, immediately triggering the original manufacturer's safety protection mechanism to halt operation and ensure visitor safety.

The park followed standard operating procedures for handling the situation. Professional technicians performed equipment reset and visitor evacuation, completing the entire process in about 5 to 6 minutes. Subsequently, equipment safety checks and system confirmations were conducted. After verifying that all functions were normal, operations resumed.

E-DA Theme Park stated that no one was injured in this incident, and all visitors safely returned to the platform. After inspection confirmed the equipment was operating normally and the weather at the site had stabilized, the ride resumed normal operation. No further anomalies have occurred.

E-DA Theme Park emphasized that all amusement rides undergo daily inspections, maintenance, and safety management according to regulations. In the afternoon, equipment maintenance and testing will be carried out according to established procedures to continuously ensure visitor safety. (Editor: Wu Surou) 1150610
