(Central News Agency, reporter Zhang Jianzhong, Hsinchu, 10th) Wafer foundry Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) has finalized the pricing of its Global Depositary Receipts (GDS) at $31.65 per unit, raising $886 million. The funds will be used to purchase machinery and equipment and to introduce new technologies in order to strengthen its international competitiveness.
PSMC stated that approximately 395 million new shares participated in this GDS issuance. Including employee stock subscriptions, a total of 420 million common shares were issued. Each GDS unit represents 15 common shares of PSMC. The issuance price per GDS unit was $31.65, approximately NT$66.68, representing a discount of about 5.73% from the average closing price on the 9th. The total amount raised was $886 million.
PSMC indicated that with the rapid growth of AI-related computing demand, memory demand has significantly increased. PSMC will invest resources to optimize the integration of logic and memory technologies and accelerate the advancement of its 3D AI foundry business to seize AI opportunities.
PSMC pointed out that it will transform into a professional foundry service company centered on AI applications. It aims for revenue from 3D AI-related businesses to account for 20% of total revenue within three years. (Editor: Pan Yijing) 1150610
