Hualien police raided an illegally operated bed and breakfast that was used as a front for drug sales, arresting four suspects. Seized items included methamphetamine and etomidate vape cartridges.

According to the Hualien County Police Department's Criminal Investigation Brigade, the illegally operated B&B was rented out on a daily basis. In early March of this year, police received information that a 33-year-old male B&B employee, surnamed Lin, was suspected of selling drugs and providing rooms for drug users. Police began an investigation under the direction of the Hualien District Prosecutors Office.

After days of gathering evidence, the task force deemed the time ripe and executed a search warrant issued by the Hualien District Court. They first seized one packet of methamphetamine from Lin. Subsequently, they discovered a couple, a 39-year-old man surnamed Zhang and a 44-year-old woman surnamed Huang, using drugs in a room. Twelve packets of methamphetamine and six etomidate vape cartridges were seized from the couple.

Additionally, a 30-year-old B&B owner, surnamed Zhang, was found in possession of one etomidate vape cartridge. Police stated that a total of 13 packets of methamphetamine and 7 etomidate vape cartridges were seized at the scene. The four suspects, including Lin, were transferred to the Hualien District Prosecutors Office on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act. Police will continue to trace the upstream drug supply chain.

Hualien County Police Chief Fan Zhikun stated that the police will continue to cooperate with the 'Anju Project' to vigorously combat drugs and called on the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities to the police to maintain social safety.
