The Public Construction Commission (PCC) of the Executive Yuan announced today (9th) the results of the 114th fiscal year performance evaluation for public construction inspection teams. A total of 37 agencies, including 18 central government ministries such as the Ministry of Economic Affairs and 19 local governments such as Kaohsiung City, were rated 'Excellent'. Among them, the National Palace Museum, the Central Bank, and the Taitung County Government showed significant progress compared to the 113th fiscal year.

According to a press release from the PCC, a comprehensive three-level quality management system has been established to enhance the quality of public construction and ensure construction safety. The public construction inspection teams of 45 competent authorities nationwide regularly inspect the progress and quality of their respective projects in accordance with Article 70, Paragraph 3 of the Government Procurement Act. The PCC evaluates their operational performance annually.

Following initial and review procedures, a total of 37 agencies achieved an 'Excellent' rating in the 114th fiscal year evaluation. The central government agencies awarded include the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of National Defense, National Science and Technology Council, Ministry of Agriculture, Veterans Affairs Council, Ministry of Environment, Ocean Affairs Council, Council of Indigenous Peoples, Hakka Affairs Council, Ministry of Justice, National Palace Museum, Central Bank, Nuclear Safety Commission, and National Development Council.

Regarding local governments, according to PCC data, 19 counties and cities, excluding Chiayi County, Penghu County, and Lienchiang County, received an 'Excellent' rating. The PCC stated that the excellent agencies demonstrated outstanding performance in tracking and implementing defect corrections, inspection sampling rates, and the level of participation by senior personnel, concretely showing their high regard and commitment to the quality of public construction.

The PCC told reporters that the significant improvement in the scores of the National Palace Museum, the Central Bank, and Taitung County Government compared to the 113th fiscal year was attributed to a shortened average time for correcting defects found during inspections, an increased rate of senior personnel actually participating in inspections, and an improved rate of project progress reporting.

The PCC stated that it will continue to urge all competent authorities to refine their construction inspection operations, prioritizing the inspection of projects with potential occupational safety and high risks, as well as major public construction projects, to effectively improve the quality of public construction and provide the public with high-quality public facilities.
