Shinnosuke Abe Referred to Prosecutors for Alleged Assault on Eldest Daughter

Japanese police revealed today that Shinnosuke Abe, former manager of the professional baseball team Yomiuri Giants, has been referred to prosecutors by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police on suspicion of assaulting his 18-year-old eldest daughter.

According to a TBS report, investigations show that on May 25, at his home in Shibuya, Tokyo, Abe became dissatisfied with an argument between his two daughters. When he intervened, he got into a dispute with his eldest daughter, subsequently grabbing her by the collar and pushing her down.

The incident came to light after the eldest daughter reported to a child consultation center around 7 p.m. that evening, stating, "I was assaulted and hit by my father." The center then reported it to the police.

Police arrived at the scene to investigate and administered a breathalyzer test to Abe, which showed the presence of alcohol in his breath.

According to the police, four people were in the house at the time of the incident: Abe, his wife, their 18-year-old eldest daughter, and their 15-year-old second daughter. The wife and the second daughter witnessed the entire event.

In response to police questioning, Abe admitted to the actions, stating, "The sisters were arguing, I told them to be quiet, but my daughter talked back, which made me get heated and lose my senses."

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police determined that there was no risk of Abe fleeing or destroying evidence and released him on May 26. The investigation continued on a voluntary basis, and the process of referring the case to prosecutors was completed today.
