(Central News Agency, Paris, 9th - Special Dispatch) A study published today by the business social networking platform LinkedIn shows that Paris's artificial intelligence (AI) job market outperforms other European cities. By industry, the defense and aerospace sectors have the highest demand for AI-related talent.

The study, disclosed by the newspaper Les Échos, was released in conjunction with the major tech startup exhibition Viva Technology to be held in Paris next week.

According to the survey, the European Union has added more than 256,000 job opportunities related to the rise of AI since 2023. Nearly 20,000 of these, or about 8%, are in Paris, far surpassing other major European cities such as Dublin, Munich, Milan, and Madrid, which added only 4,000 to 6,000 related jobs each.

The situation in France reflects a shift in the European job market. Sue Duke, Head of Public Policy for Europe at LinkedIn, said France ranks 5th globally in AI application among the working-age population and is home to leading companies like Mistral AI, making Paris one of Europe's AI employment centers.

However, AI talent is not concentrated solely in Paris. LinkedIn estimates that thanks to the cluster effect around the electronics industry hub in Isère in the east and the aerospace leader Airbus in the south, the cities of Grenoble and Toulouse also have AI talent numbers comparable to Paris.

AI-related job opportunities in Toulouse increased by 67.3% over one year, while Paris saw a 17.9% increase. However, Grenoble experienced a 7.3% decline.

Other cities attracting AI talent include Brest and Clermont-Ferrand. NATO plans to establish an AI campus in Brest, while Clermont-Ferrand is the headquarters of tire manufacturer Michelin.

Regarding the sectors with the highest demand for AI talent, defense and aerospace come first. These two industries have massive needs and strong financial resources, employing approximately 5.6% of France's AI engineers. They are followed by the technology industry, professional services and public services, energy, and finance.

The study results show that AI experts are more likely than professionals in other fields to relocate internationally for career development. Even so, France's appeal remains slightly stronger; in 2025, France attracted more AI engineers than it lost. (Editor: Chen Yanjun) 1150609
