Man Arrested for Drug-Impaired Driving After Hitting Motorcyclist Who Reported Him for Not Moving at Green Light

The driver then hit the motorcyclist and fled. Police apprehended the suspect on the 9th, and a drug test came back positive, leading to prosecution.

The Yuanlin Branch of the Changhua County Police Department stated that at approximately 8:30 PM on the 8th, they received a report of a suspected drug-impaired driving incident on Guangming Street in Yuanlin City. When officers arrived, the white car involved had already fled the scene.

According to the investigation, the reporting motorcyclist was waiting at a red light. When the light turned green, the white car in front did not move. The motorcyclist approached to check the situation and found the driver appeared to be in poor mental condition, leading him to suspect drug-impaired driving and report it. Upon seeing this, the driver immediately drove forward, hitting the motorcyclist, then reversed into another car before fleeing.

Police apprehended the suspect, a man surnamed Liu, in Douliu City, Yunlin County, at approximately 9:00 AM on the 9th. A saliva rapid test was positive for etomidate (commonly known as the zombie drug). Police also seized used vape cartridges.
