(Central News Agency, Tokyo, 9th, Comprehensive Foreign News) Japanese stocks closed higher today, as investors bought on the dip following oversold conditions, leading to a rebound in technology stocks from a recent sharp sell-off. Market optimism was also boosted by an agreement between Iran and Israel to cease hostilities, which helped ease tensions in the Middle East.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index closed up 1,392.03 points, or 2.17%, at 65,416.63.

The broader Topix index ended the day up 43.73 points, or 1.14%, at 3,896.11. (Editor: Hung Pei-ying) 1150609
