DPP to Nominate Cheng Chao-fang for Hsinchu County Magistrate; President Lai to Tie Campaign Sash

(Central News Agency, reporter Yeh Su-ping, Taipei, June 9) In preparation for the year-end local elections, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will hold a nomination press conference tomorrow afternoon to officially nominate Zhubei City Mayor Cheng Chao-fang as its candidate for Hsinchu County Magistrate. The DPP issued a media advisory today, stating that President and DPP Chairperson Lai Ching-te will personally tie the campaign sash on Cheng tomorrow.

The DPP's nomination process for the Hsinchu County Magistrate candidate went through several twists and turns before finally settling on Cheng Chao-fang.
