Changhua Police Breaks Ground on New Building to Enhance Digital Crime-Fighting Capabilities with Tech Investigation Center

(CNA reporter Wu Che-hao, Changhua, 9th) The Changhua County Police Department's Comprehensive Administration Building broke ground today. The county government stated that the police administration building is expected to be completed in July 2028 and will be used by the department's criminal investigation units. The building will feature an advanced technology crime investigation computer room to enhance the ability to track virtual currency money flows.

The Changhua County Government issued a press release stating that to improve the police administrative environment and strengthen technological investigation capabilities, the Changhua County Police Department held a groundbreaking ceremony for the "Changhua County Police Department Comprehensive Administration Building" at a construction site next to the county government building, presided over by Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei.

In her speech, Wang Hui-mei said the project involves the construction of a building with 5 floors above ground and 1 basement level, with a total floor area of about 1,356 ping (approx. 4,482 square meters). The total budget of NT$315.559 million is fully funded by the county. It is expected to be completed in July 2028. The county government is supporting police work with concrete actions and safeguarding the welfare of police officers.

Wang Hui-mei pointed out that the building will house the most advanced "Technology Crime Investigation Computer Room" in the future, strengthening the ability to track virtual currency money flows and enhancing technologies such as mobile phone forensics, decryption of information and communication equipment, and big data analysis on online platforms. This will lead to outstanding results in investigating technology crimes like fraud and money laundering.

The Changhua County Police Department noted that the site of the comprehensive building was originally police dormitories, which were demolished after being abandoned for many years and converted into a temporary parking lot. After long-term planning and preparation from various parties, the police hall officially broke ground.
