(Central News Agency, Reporter Tsai Meng-yu, Kaohsiung, 8th) Huang Jie, who took office today as the chair of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Kaohsiung City Chapter, stated that she will organize a "Chairpersons' Association" to strengthen election strategies and create a new atmosphere of unity. Her top priority is to fully assist Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Lai Jui-long and city council candidates in winning their elections.
The DPP Kaohsiung City Chapter held the 8th and 9th term chairperson handover and inauguration ceremony today. Former chapter chair and Kaohsiung City Councilor Huang Wen-yi stepped down, and DPP Legislator Huang Jie succeeded him as the new chair.
Huang Jie stated that all previous chairs have been pioneers for the DPP in local areas. After taking office, she will invite all former chairs to form a "Chairpersons' Association" to pool the experience and networks of her predecessors, creating the strongest electoral support base for the chapter, strengthening election strategies, and fostering a new atmosphere of unity to face the year-end elections.
She further stated that her top priority upon taking office is to fully assist DPP Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Lai Jui-long and city council candidates in winning their elections, and to continue the governance of incumbent Mayor Chen Chi-mai.
Huang Jie announced plans to hold the first party member meeting in Northern Kaohsiung and prepare a youth staff symposium before the end of June, aiming to expand the chapter's dialogue platform and make it a bridge for communication with citizens.
After taking office, she also signed her first personnel document, confirming the reappointment of Kuo Chun-chin as the chapter's Executive Director, and the reappointment of current Deputy Executive Directors Liu Jui-tang and Chang Chun-jung.
