(Central News Agency, Seoul, 8th, Comprehensive Foreign News) Artificial intelligence (AI) chip leader Nvidia announced today that it has signed cooperation agreements with South Korea's SK Hynix, NAVER, and Doosan Group to build AI data centers and introduce Nvidia technology, continuing to drive the AI boom.

According to Reuters, these agreements were announced during Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's high-profile visit to South Korea. After arriving in Seoul on the 5th, Huang spent several days sharing fried chicken with top local business executives, serving as a ceremonial pitcher, and attending events with top e-sports players.

Neither Nvidia nor its partners disclosed the value of the agreements.

SK Hynix and Nvidia said they have signed a multi-year technology partnership agreement to advance the development of next-generation memory required for global AI data centers.

The South Korean memory chip maker said it will enter new AI fields such as personal AI and physical AI through this collaboration, and noted that the agreement will help maintain stable supply during the long development cycle of advanced memory semiconductors.

SK Telecom, a sister company of SK Hynix, said it will adopt Nvidia technology to build a gigawatt-scale AI cloud in South Korea, with the first AI data center expected to go online in 2027.

Nvidia also announced partnerships with South Korean internet giant NAVER and Doosan Group, both of which will adopt Nvidia technology to build AI data centers.

Doosan Group, which has a robotics business and produces materials used in Nvidia's most powerful Blackwell chips, said it expects its energy solutions to be applied to Nvidia's data center platform and will also introduce Nvidia's physical AI technology.

South Korea is a manufacturing powerhouse in Asia, home to world-leading producers of chips, electronics, automobiles, and ships. SK Hynix and rival Samsung Electronics are the world's two largest memory chip makers, and memory chips are a key component of data centers. (Editor: Qu Xiangping) June 8, 2026
