Macau authorities recently uncovered a case in which high-ranking police officers were protecting a criminal prostitution organization. The incident led to the arrest of a deputy director and an acting division chief of the Public Security Police Force.
According to a report by Macau Radio on the 8th, local police recently dismantled three prostitution criminal organizations, arresting 26 individuals, including Macau residents, mainland Chinese, and Hong Kong residents. Among them, 12 suspects have been remanded in custody pending trial.
The detained suspects include three active-duty members of the security forces: one deputy director of the Public Security Police Force, one acting division chief of the Public Security Police Force, and one police officer of the Public Security Police Force. Additionally, two retired Judicial Police officers are also among the detainees.
Reports indicate that the criminal organizations involved operated under the guise of spas and massage parlors, recruiting women from Asia and Eastern Europe to engage in sexual transactions locally. The implicated high-ranking police officers and retired Judicial Police personnel regularly received bribes from the organizations in exchange for providing information on police operations.
