(Central News Agency, Reporter Xie Junlin, Taipei, 8th) The Taipei Branch of the Administrative Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Justice, announced today that a person surnamed Peng had accumulated over NT$800,000 in unpaid traffic fines and other fees. After collecting a portion of the amount, approximately NT$600,000 remains unpaid. The Taipei Branch located a Porsche registered under Peng's name and legally seized it.

According to a press release from the Taipei Branch, this action was taken in coordination with the agency's "Traffic (Enhanced Enforcement of Vehicle-Related Taxes and Fines) Project." The branch continues to track the assets of obligors, demonstrating its determination to enforce public authority and realize state claims.

The press release stated that Peng had long been delinquent on traffic fines, parking fees, and highway tolls, with a total amount referred for enforcement exceeding NT$800,000. Enforcement officers repeatedly sent notices and executed seizures of Peng's bank deposits, collecting a portion of the debt, but approximately NT$600,000 remains unpaid.

To ensure the realization of public law claims, the Taipei Branch further investigated Peng's financial status. During interrogation, enforcement officers obtained a crucial lead that Peng's Porsche was being serviced at a repair shop. They immediately went to the site, confirmed the vehicle's location, and completed the seizure process in accordance with the law.

The Taipei Branch emphasized that it will continue to persistently pursue the seizable assets of obligors in cases involving unpaid traffic fines and other public monetary obligations. It will utilize seizures, attachments, and other legal enforcement measures to protect state claims and social justice. The branch also urged the public to pay any outstanding debts on time or contact the enforcement agency early to avoid having their property forcibly seized. (Editor: Lin Shuhui)
