(CNA News, Taipei, June 8) Affected by a stationary front and southwestern winds, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) initiated a large-scale heavy rain operation this afternoon. It predicts that tomorrow, the 9th, and the 10th will be the two most significant rainfall days of the coming week, with particular attention needed for localized heavy rain or above in the mountainous areas of central and southern Taiwan. Kaohsiung City announced in the evening that the forecasted rainfall in its mountainous areas has reached the criteria for work and school closures.
