DPP's 'Song for Women' Event Held in Chiayi City, Demonstrating Unity

DPP Legislator and Chiayi City mayoral candidate Wang Mei-hui attended the event with party councilors and supporters, strengthening bonds through musical exchange and demonstrating the power of unity and mutual support.

The event, titled '2026 Sisters Return Home: Song for Women' and organized by the DPP Department of Gender Equality Affairs, took place in the afternoon in Chiayi City. Attendees included DPP Gender Equality Director Li Yan-rong, former DPP Legislator Lu Sun-ling, Wang Mei-hui, and several DPP Chiayi City councilors and candidates, who gathered with supporters.

Wang Mei-hui stated in a press release that women play crucial roles in families, workplaces, and all corners of society. She noted that the government continues to promote various friendly policies, including President Lai Ching-te's proposed '0 to 18-year-old Growth Allowance' and the Ministry of Labor's expansion of prenatal leave, to help families balance work and childcare and create a more child-friendly environment.

Wang said that throughout her journey from assistant to councilor to legislator, she has deeply felt the challenges women face in public affairs and the workplace, which is why she places great importance on women's rights and gender equality issues.

The atmosphere at the event was enthusiastic. Wang and the participants chanted 'Women Support Chiayi' in unison and sang the song 'Only by Fighting Can We Win,' showcasing a spirit of unity and high morale.
