(Central News Agency, reporter Yu Hsiao-han, Taipei, 8th) Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC) announced today the launch of the e-publication "New Insights of Maritime and Ports." The publication combines feature reports and other formats to transform the relatively esoteric professional knowledge of maritime and port affairs into easy-to-understand stories.

TIPC issued a press release stating that it collaborated with the Maritime and Port Bureau (MPB) and the CR Classification Society (CR) to compile the e-publication, which was simultaneously published on the official websites of the three agencies starting today.

TIPC pointed out that the inaugural issue is themed "Taking the Sea as the Path, Leading a New Era of Sustainability." It features a foreword written by Minister of Transportation and Communications Chen Shih-kai, and includes interviews with key senior figures in the maritime and port sector, including Lin Kuo-hsien, Senior Vice Minister of MOTC and Chairman of CR; Yeh Hsieh-lung, Director-General of MPB; Chou Yung-hui, Chairman of TIPC; Wang Chin-jung, President of TIPC; and Cheng Chih-wen, CEO of CR. They share their observations and insights on important topics such as maritime and port system reform, the dual-axis transformation of "Smart Sustainability (AI × ESG)," waterfront revitalization, port-city co-prosperity development, and sustainable ocean governance.

TIPC noted that the journal's content combines feature reports, industry observations, practical cases, and expert perspectives to transform complex professional knowledge into compelling stories, aiming to bridge the gap between ports and the public, and between the ocean and daily life, thereby enhancing public understanding of maritime affairs and the port industry.

Chou Yung-hui expressed hope that the publication would help various sectors quickly grasp the challenges and opportunities facing the port and shipping industry, allowing them to plan for future development directions in advance.

TIPC stated that "New Insights of Maritime and Ports" will be published every four months. The inaugural issue is published by TIPC, with subsequent issues to be published by MPB and CR, continuing to outline a comprehensive port blueprint from different perspectives.

Additionally, TIPC noted that this year marks the 140th anniversary of the founding of Keelung Port. Therefore, a special "Keelung Port 140th Anniversary Forum" has been organized, themed "Smart Ports & Shipping, Co-prosperous City, Sustainable Future," to discuss the opportunities and challenges for Keelung Port's future development.

Chou Yung-hui pointed out that in recent years, Keelung Port has successfully transformed under the development positioning of "equal emphasis on passengers and cargo," rising to become an internationally renowned cruise port. With the advancement of corporatized port operations, efforts will be dedicated to enhancing port competitiveness and smart transformation, with the goal of transforming Keelung Port from a traditional cargo handling node into a modern comprehensive complex integrating "smart logistics, urban tourism, and sustainable development."
