According to a press release from the Tainan City Water Resources Bureau, due to an approaching front and enhanced southwesterly winds, there will be localized brief showers or thunderstorms across Taiwan today. The Tainan area will experience cloudy skies with brief showers or thunderstorms, with the main rainfall area being the plains. Coastal and mountainous areas are prone to localized heavy rain. Tomorrow, short-duration heavy rainfall is likely, with the main rainfall areas being the coast, some inland areas, and mountainous regions, with a chance of heavy rain or extremely heavy rain.

The Water Resources Bureau stated that Mayor Huang Wei-che has instructed the bureau to open a Level 3 Emergency Response Center at 8 PM tonight. According to the Water Resources Bureau's statistics, as of 4 PM today, the highest cumulative rainfall in the Tainan area was 100 mm in Madou District, followed by 99 mm in Xinying District and 97 mm in Houbi and Xiaying Districts. The highest hourly rainfall was 42 mm in Guantian District. A total of 35 pumping stations under the bureau's jurisdiction were activated, with a total pumping volume of approximately 640,000 tons.

The Water Resources Bureau noted that district offices and the bureau have prepared approximately 230,000 sandbags and distributed about 4,100 flood barriers to district offices and community disaster prevention groups.
