(Central News Agency reporter Yang Sirui, Tainan 8th) A 59-year-old man surnamed Wu, driving alone, crashed his car into a roadside light pole for unknown reasons on Gongxue Road Section 6, Annan District, around 3 a.m. today. The vehicle overturned and was severely damaged. Wu was trapped in the driver's seat and was rescued by firefighters but was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Tainan City Government Fire Bureau received a report at 3:27 a.m. about a suspected self-collision and overturn on Gongxue Road Section 6, Annan District. They dispatched 4 vehicles and 10 personnel to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a car overturned on the road with severe body deformation. A man was trapped in the driver's seat. Using rescue tools, they freed the man around 3:57 a.m.

Firefighters' initial assessment showed the man was in OHCA (Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest) condition. He was immediately taken by ambulance to Annan Hospital but was pronounced dead after resuscitation efforts.

Preliminary investigation by police and firefighters indicates that the 59-year-old man was driving east on Gongxue Road Section 6 when he apparently crashed into a roadside light pole for unknown reasons, causing the vehicle to overturn.
