(CNA reporter Yang Szu-jui, Tainan, 8th) As the season gradually enters the flood period, the Tainan City Government announced today a cross-industry collaboration with Nanfang Shopping Center to set up a "June Midsummer Disaster Preparedness Zone" in the mall. The zone displays emergency rescue bags and other items, reminding the public to prepare a three-day supply of dry rations, drinking water, and other emergency materials in advance.

Mayor Huang Wei-che stated in a press release today that with the arrival of the typhoon season, the city government team has fully initiated typhoon and disaster prevention deployments. However, the autonomous protection by community members and citizens is the most critical line of defense against typhoons. The public should pay close attention to weather and work/school closure announcements from the Central Weather Administration and the Tainan City Government, and make more use of the official disaster preparedness resource zone to prepare a three-day supply of dry rations, drinking water, and flashlights in advance.

Tainan City Fire Bureau Director Yang Tsung-lin stated that the concept of a "3-day autonomous disaster preparedness living circle" emphasizes that when water, electricity, communication, and transportation are cut off, the community and the public must possess the ability for "self-help and mutual aid" to maintain basic survival and operation within the critical 72 hours before rescue arrives. The city government is collaborating with private-sector stores to provide the public with relevant disaster prevention products, urging people to make disaster preparations early to enhance the prevalence of autonomous disaster preparedness.

The Fire Bureau provided information indicating that this collaboration with Nanfang Shopping Center to create the "June Midsummer Disaster Preparedness Zone" integrates official disaster prevention materials into the mall's preparedness section. In addition to matching lifestyle brands to provide essential reserve materials like flashlights, power banks, and alternatives to flood-control sandbags, it also physically displays the standard contents of an "emergency evacuation kit," allowing the public to grasp key disaster prevention knowledge while shopping.
