(Central News Agency, reporter Wu Ruiqi, Taoyuan, 8th) National Central University today signed a 'Forward-looking Green Energy Cooperation Memorandum' with the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre. The partnership combines academic research capabilities with industrial resources to jointly promote green energy technology R&D, talent cultivation, and technology application, creating an innovative and sustainable cooperation platform.

According to a press release from NCU, the signing ceremony was represented by NCU President Shuh-San Shuo and MIRDC Chairperson Jia-Ru Liu. The cooperation technologies cover numerous advanced green energy and sustainable technology fields, including energy information communication and smart grids, power systems and measurement technology, next-generation hydrogen energy and energy storage technology, renewable energy application and thermal analysis, polymer and porous functional material development, micro-channel sensing technology, and circular economy and carbon conversion technology.

It will also integrate meteorological and environmental science research to strengthen the integrated application of energy systems and the climate environment, thereby enhancing Taiwan's competitiveness in the global green energy industry chain.

In his speech, President Shuo stated that NCU has long been deeply engaged in interdisciplinary research fields such as energy, materials, electrical engineering, and the environment, possessing comprehensive R&D capabilities and a foundation for talent cultivation. He expressed hope that through this collaboration, the linkage between academia and institutional organizations would be deepened, promoting technology implementation and industrial application, and injecting new momentum into Taiwan's energy transition and sustainable industrial development through resource integration and cross-domain cooperation.

Chairperson Liu pointed out that in the face of rapid global energy structure changes, only by combining the innovative R&D of academia with the integration and promotion capabilities of institutional organizations can the development and application of green energy technologies be effectively accelerated. In the future, both parties will establish a long-term and stable cooperative relationship through joint research, technical exchanges, project cooperation, and talent training, jointly promoting net-zero sustainability and green technology development.
