PLG's Kuan Ta-Yu Defensive Heroics Propel Pilots to Comeback Win in Finals

(Central News Agency, reporter Chen Rong-shen, Taipei, June 7) The defending champion Taoyuan Pauian Pilots of Taiwan's professional basketball league P.LEAGUE+ defeated the Taipei Fubon Braves 98-94 at home today, tying the championship series at 1-1.

After losing the first game of the finals, the Pilots faced the Braves again at home. They held a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter, but nearly squandered it as Stefan Jankovic hit consecutive three-pointers. Fortunately, star player Lu Chun-hsiang stepped up at the end of the game, making a difficult step-back jump shot to secure the win and tie the series at 1-1.

Lu Chun-hsiang struggled with his shooting touch but still led all local players with 17 points, taking responsibility in the crucial moments. In a post-game interview, Lu admitted he needed to adjust his shooting rhythm. He thanked his teammates for their trust in giving him the ball for the decisive shot and expressed happiness that he was able to make it.
