(Central News Agency, Washington, 6th - Combined Foreign Reports) The US military announced tonight that it had shot down two Iranian attack drones that were threatening shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. This is the latest military clash between the warring parties, highlighting renewed tensions in the Middle East.

According to AFP, US Central Command (CENTCOM) posted on social media platform X: "Earlier today, US forces shot down two Iranian one-way attack drones that were threatening international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz in the Middle East."

Late on the 5th, CENTCOM stated that US forces had shot down four Iranian attack drones heading towards the Strait of Hormuz and subsequently destroyed a surveillance radar station on the Iranian coast.

Despite weeks of indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran on how to end the war, the two sides continue to attack each other, including Iran firing multiple missiles at US allies Bahrain and Kuwait today. (Editor: Liu Wenyu) 1150607
