(Central News Agency, Taoyuan, 7th) The Taoyuan Police Precinct announced today that a man surnamed Zhang (42) reported last night that he had been stabbed by an intruder at his residence. When police and firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the man had no injuries, and his statements were contradictory and his mood abnormal. A search of the room uncovered drugs including etomidate and amphetamine, and he was immediately arrested and sent for prosecution.

Liu Bo-chun, Deputy Chief of the Wuling Police Station under the Taoyuan City Police Department's Taoyuan Precinct, said in a media interview that police received a report from Zhang at 9:30 PM last night claiming someone had broken into his home and stabbed him. Officers and firefighters immediately arrived to assist. However, after examination, firefighters found no signs of stab wounds on Zhang's body, which clearly contradicted his report. Zhang even blamed the police and firefighters for disturbing his rest, drawing the attention of the police.

Liu pointed out that due to Zhang's abnormal mood and contradictory speech at the scene, officers heightened their alertness and conducted a further investigation. They discovered suspected drugs and related paraphernalia placed on a table in the room. During the lawful investigation process, Zhang strongly resisted, talking nonsense and shouting for help, but was eventually subdued and arrested by the officers.

Liu said that police seized over 300 grams of etomidate and amphetamine, as well as other drugs, from Zhang's rented suite. They also confiscated packaging bags, electronic scales, and mixers used for drug manufacturing and packaging. The case has been transferred for investigation under the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act, and authorities will continue to trace the source and flow of the drugs. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150607
