Taoyuan Yong'an Fishing Port Guanhai Bridge to Undergo Rust Removal and Repairs from April 8, Weekday Traffic Controls in Place

(Central News Agency reporter Wu Ruiqi, Taoyuan, 7th) The Taoyuan City Department of Agriculture stated today that to maintain the safety of the Guanhai Bridge facilities at Yong'an Fishing Port and extend its service life, a rust removal maintenance project will commence on the 8th, with completion expected by the end of July. During the construction period, time-based traffic controls will be implemented from Monday to Friday, with the bridge open during weekday evenings and on holidays.

The Taoyuan City Government Department of Agriculture issued a press release stating that the Guanhai Bridge is an important landmark and scenic viewpoint in Yong'an Fishing Port, Xinwu District. Due to long-term exposure to sea breeze, salt, sun, and rain, the metal components of the bridge structure are prone to rust and corrosion. A regular inspection was completed in April, and subsequent detailed inspections and improvements for bridge repair items will be carried out, initiating the first phase of restoration work to ensure structural safety.

Department Director Chen Guanyi pointed out that the "Yong'an Fishing Port Guanhai Bridge Rust Removal Maintenance Project" will begin on the 8th and is expected to be completed by the end of July. Considering the large number of tourists during holidays, and to balance construction quality, tourism needs, and public traffic safety, construction will be scheduled on weekdays from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. After 5:00 PM daily, as well as on national holidays and regular weekends, the Guanhai Bridge will be reopened for public passage.

The Department of Agriculture reminded the public to cooperate with on-site control measures during construction, follow signs and staff guidance for passage, and ensure their own safety. The city government will continue to implement regular inspections and maintenance operations in the future to enhance the safety and service quality of public facilities in the port area, creating a safe and comfortable recreational environment.
