The Hsinchu City Fire Bureau stated via text message that they received a report at nearly 5:00 PM about smoke coming from a residence on Yanping Road Section 3, North District. They immediately dispatched 12 fire trucks and 34 firefighters to the scene.

The Fire Bureau reported that the scene was a 5-story building with fire and smoke coming from the 4th floor. It was confirmed that two people were trapped on the 4th floor and two on the 5th floor. Personnel were divided into multiple teams to carry out search, rescue, and firefighting operations.

The Fire Bureau stated that firefighters rescued one woman and one boy from the 4th floor, and one woman and one girl from the 5th floor. All four suffered minor smoke inhalation but were conscious.
