(Central News Agency, reporter Yu Hsiao-Han, Taipei, 7th) The New Taipei Metro San-Ying Line underwent its final inspection today. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) stated that the inspection team proposed a total of 15 improvement items, including 4 items that must be completed before the line can begin operations, such as the damper test switch at Dingpu Station (LB01) affecting passenger flow.

The San-Ying Line is a medium-capacity automated driverless system, spanning 14.29 kilometers with 12 stations. It connects Tucheng District, Sanxia District, and Yingge District. The starting point, Dingpu Station, offers seamless transfers with the Taipei Metro Bannan Line, and the terminus is Yingtao Fude Station. Once operational, commuting time between the San-Ying area and Taipei City is expected to be reduced by approximately 20 minutes.

The MOTC issued a press release today stating that the inspection team was divided into three groups: civil engineering, electromechanical, and operations. After completing the inspection and group discussions, they proposed 15 improvement items. Among these, 4 are items that must be improved before operations, 6 are general items requiring attention and improvement, and 5 are suggestions for future improvements.

The MOTC pointed out that the pre-operation improvement items include: the damper test switch at Dingpu Station (LB01) affecting passenger flow; incomplete finishing of operational facilities and equipment; unclear or missing safety signage for operational facilities and equipment; and the need to mark prohibition lines and warning lines on the floor of the 161kV equipment room at Sanxia Main Substation.

The MOTC explained that after the New Taipei City Government confirms the completion of these improvements and reports to the MOTC for approval, the New Taipei City Government will then decide on the official opening date.

Regarding the general improvement items, the MOTC stated that the New Taipei City Government should handle the improvements and follow-up tracking itself. The suggestions for future improvements will be referenced when planning future line extensions.

The MOTC stated that after the San-Ying Line opens, it will connect with the Taipei Metro Bannan Line at Dingpu Station and the Taiwan Railways Yingge Station, linking to the Taipei metropolitan area's metro and railway networks. It will provide transportation for the Tucheng, Sanxia, and Yingge areas and connect to tourist landmarks such as the New Taipei City Art Museum, Yingge Ceramics Old Street, and Sanxia Old Street.
