(Central News Agency, reporter Wang Hongguo, New Taipei City, 7th) The New Taipei City Government's Department of Rapid Transit Systems stated that the inspection of the New Taipei MRT San-Ying Line was completed today. After completing 4 items requiring improvement before operation, they can apply for an operating permit from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC). Once the permit is obtained, the line can open, and they are fully committed to the goal of opening by the middle of this year.

The New Taipei City MRT Department issued a press release stating that Wu Dong-ling, Director of the Department of Railways and Highways and Safety of the MOTC, served as the convener of the inspection committee. He invited 9 domestic experts and scholars to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the San-Ying Line. The inspection was divided into three groups: civil engineering, electromechanical systems, and operations, conducting document reviews, on-site inspections, simulation drills, group discussions, and a concluding meeting.

Li Zheng-an, Director of the New Taipei City MRT Department, stated that after the inspection of the San-Ying Line, the committee members reached a consensus conclusion: there are 4 items requiring improvement before operation, 6 general items requiring attention and improvement, and 5 items suggested for future improvement.

He stated that the MRT Department will implement the suggestions made by the inspection committee as soon as possible. After confirming that the items requiring improvement before operation are completed, they will promptly report to the MOTC to request the issuance of an operating permit. Once the permit is obtained, the line can open.

The New Taipei City MRT Department stated that the San-Ying Line is New Taipei City's first self-operated medium-capacity MRT system. It has a total length of 14.29 kilometers, connecting Tucheng, Sanxia, and Yingge. It allows transfers to the Bannan Line and Taiwan Railways. After opening, it is expected to effectively drive the development of the San-Ying area and enhance tourism benefits. (Editor: Chen Renhua) 1150607
