(Central News Agency, Washington, 7th, combined foreign reports) US President Donald Trump, in an interview aired today, called for "more precise" strikes against the Lebanese Shiite fundamentalist militia Hezbollah and stated he would not demand that the Lebanon conflict be included in a peace agreement with Iran.

According to AFP, in a transcript of an interview recorded on the 5th and released by NBC's "Meet the Press" program, Trump said: "I want to see more precise attacks on Hezbollah. I think it should be more precise."

He said: "I want the Lebanese people to have a better life."

Israel launched airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut today, a stronghold of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah, saying it was retaliation for attacks on its territory. Despite a ceasefire, the violence has not ended.

When asked if he would demand that the Lebanon issue be included in an Iran agreement, Trump answered: "No, no."

He said: "Not at all. I wouldn't demand that. I think they might want to see that happen, but I wouldn't demand it."

Trump has previously said he wants discussions on Lebanon to be separate from negotiations on an agreement with Iran, while Tehran wants the two conflicts to be linked.

In the interview, Trump also mentioned that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said he would be "very happy" to help broker an agreement on the Lebanon conflict.

He said: "We can recommend Syria to step in. Syria is working very hard to reform itself, and they have a very good leader. And he is very willing to help." (Editor: He Hongru) 1150608
