Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Taichung, Nantou, and Mountainous Areas of Miaoli and Yilan

(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 7) The Central Weather Administration issued a heavy rain warning. Due to active convective cloud systems, short-duration heavy rainfall is likely. Today, localized heavy rain or torrential rain is expected in Taichung City, Nantou County, and the mountainous areas of Miaoli County and Yilan County. There is also a chance of localized heavy rain in the northern region, Changhua, Yilan, areas south of Yunlin, and the mountainous areas of Hualien.

The CWA urges the public to be cautious of lightning and strong gusts, and to be vigilant against landslides, falling rocks, and rising river levels in mountainous areas. Low-lying areas should also be aware of the risk of flooding. (Editor: Chen Renhua) 1150607
