(Central News Agency, Penghu County, June 6) In response to the Ministry of Sports' 'Healthy Taiwan' series of activities and 'World Bicycle Day', the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Administration held the 'Hi Ride Penghu Early Summer' cycling event. Over 150 cyclists, young and old, enjoyed a pleasant ride today under comfortable weather, taking in the natural beauty of Penghu Island.

The 'Hi Ride Penghu Early Summer' cycling event organized by the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration started with a whistle blown by Deputy Director Lu Yu-chien of the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration and Chen Jing-hui, Director of the Education Department of the Penghu County Government, among others. After a simple warm-up exercise, over 150 cyclists departed from the visitor center, riding a 15-kilometer route that passed through the Penghu Recreation Area, Dongwei Forest Area, Zhongtun Observation Deck and Rest Area, and Dongwei Stone Sculpture Park, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the inner sea bay.

Lu Yu-chien stated that the 'Hi Ride Penghu Early Summer' cycling event is a diverse cycling route suitable for families and the general public, combining natural ecology and ocean imagery. The ride is relatively easy, and he hopes all participating citizens will enjoy their holiday leisure time and deeply appreciate the natural scenery along the way on Penghu.

The Penghu National Scenic Area Administration stated that Penghu Island has well-planned bicycle paths. In the future, it will continue to optimize the bicycle-friendly environment, shaping Penghu into an internationally renowned low-carbon resort island. In addition to today's 'Hi Ride Penghu Early Summer' event, it is also currently offering bicycle guide services and the Penghu Island Hopping 101km Cycling Event in September.

Since the United Nations designated June 3 as World Bicycle Day in 2018, Taiwan has actively responded since 2019, demonstrating its firm commitment to health, low-carbon living, and sustainable development to the international community through cycling events held across the island.
