(Central News Agency, Penghu County, June 6) Travel tensions ran high today as tourists from the main island of Taiwan got into an argument while taking photos at the Penghu Kua Hai Bridge. The two groups later crossed paths again on their way back to Magong, leading to another round of shouting and pushing. One man sustained minor abrasions on his neck, but police quickly mediated the situation, and both sides apologized and reconciled.

The Magong Police Precinct received a report at approximately 1:30 PM today about a dispute near the Dongwei intersection in Magong City. Upon arrival, police found that both parties were tourists visiting Penghu who had previously argued over queuing for photos at the Kua Hai Bridge scenic spot. After parting ways, they met again, leading to a verbal altercation and physical pushing, during which a man from Kaohsiung sustained minor abrasions on his neck. His injuries were not serious.

Police took both parties to the station for investigation. Initial inquiries revealed that the two groups were independent travelers from Kaohsiung and Yunlin. They had argued earlier at the Kua Hai Bridge over photo-taking queues. Initially, they intended to file complaints against each other for assault and public insult. However, after police mediation and persuasion, both sides acknowledged that the incident was a result of temporary emotional失控 and ultimately apologized and reached a settlement. The police will still penalize the disorderly conduct at the scene in accordance with the Social Order Maintenance Act.

The Magong Police Precinct appealed to the public to communicate rationally and respect each other during their travels, working together to maintain a good and friendly tourism environment. (Editor: Chen Renhua) 1150606
