Taichung Holds Community Security Seminar to Share Achievements and Foster Collaboration

(CNA Reporter Hao Hsueh-ching, Taichung, 6th) The Taichung City Government Police Bureau held a community security seminar and observation event at the National Taichung University of Science and Technology to share experiences in creating safe communities and display their achievements. Police Commissioner Wu Ching-tien was present to encourage neighborhood watch partners to continue dedicating their efforts to the city's safety.

According to a press release issued by the police bureau today, the event on the 5th aimed to integrate community forces, strengthen the implementation of community security building, and establish diverse cooperative partnerships for sustainable operation. The event attracted neighborhood watch teams from all districts of the city, community development associations, and representatives from various relevant city government bureaus, fostering a lively atmosphere of exchange.

The event began with a saxophone performance, followed by a report from the police bureau's Crime Prevention Section on the assessment and results of community security strategies. Subsequently, the 'Jipingli Community' in the North District, an outstanding security community designated as a benchmark by the Ministry of the Interior, shared its experience. Village chief You Jin-long explained the achievements of Jipingli, which has won environmental protection and security awards for consecutive years.

The police bureau stated that while police resources are limited, civic power is boundless. Jipingli's recognition as a benchmark community by the Ministry of the Interior is a source of pride for Taichung. It is hoped that through study and practice, the successful experience of community security building can be expanded from a single point to a city-wide effort, working together to build a happy and secure Taichung City.
