June TAIEX Futures Plunge 1,099 Points

(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 5) Taiwan's stock market closed down 606.52 points today at 45,070.94. June TAIEX futures settled at 45,211 points, down 1,099 points, representing a contango of 140.06 points over the spot index.

The Taiwan Futures Exchange set the reference opening prices for the near two-month index futures contracts at 46,310 points for June and 46,365 points for July.

The Taiwan stock market closed down 606.52 points at 45,070.94 today, with trading volume reaching NT$1.2294 trillion.

June TAIEX futures settled at 45,211 points, down 1,099 points, with a volume of 93,951 contracts. July futures settled at 45,284 points, down 1,081 points, with a volume of 1,295 contracts. The actual closing prices are subject to the official announcement by the exchange. 1150605
