This year, its Thanksgiving Anniversary Sale period targets NT$3 billion, challenging 5% growth. FEDS today announced the launch of a cosmetics empty bottle recycling program, moving towards the next phase of sustainable retail.
Ahead of its 60th anniversary, and coinciding with World Environment Day on June 5, Far Eastern Department Stores declared its move towards the next stage of sustainable retail. It partnered with ELLE Taiwan to launch the empty bottle recycling program, starting with the recycling of cosmetics bottles, calling on consumers, brands, and retail channels to participate in a green lifestyle.
Far Eastern Retail Group Vice Chairperson Hsu Hsueh-fang and Far Eastern International Bank President Lin Chien-chung attended the press conference. Recycling stations will be set up simultaneously at all 11 stores across Taiwan, inviting consumers to bring empty bottles of designated genuine cosmetics products to the stores for recycling.
Representatives from FEDS, Far Eastern International Bank, and cosmetics brands also jointly signed an ESG Action MOU Letter of Intent, aiming to consolidate group resources, brand, and channel cooperation to build a long-term sustainable collaboration ecosystem.
Far Eastern Department Stores will reach the milestone of its 60th anniversary next year. Previously, it announced a target of NT$3 billion in revenue for its 60th Thanksgiving Anniversary Sale, challenging 5% growth.
Regarding medium to long-term布局, FEDS stated it will continue to promote store upgrades and optimize its retail footprint. The FEDS Baoqing store has already started on-site reconstruction, which is expected to be completed in 2 to 3 years.
