(Central News Agency, London, 5th, comprehensive foreign reports) The UK National Audit Office (NAO) disclosed today that scandal-ridden former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has for over 20 years leased a royal estate at a symbolic rent and generated private income by subletting cottages on the estate.

According to a report by Agence France-Presse (AFP), Andrew, the brother of King Charles III, recently moved out of the Royal Lodge located near London.

Andrew paid a £1 million premium and agreed to fund £7.5 million in renovations to the property in exchange for a 75-year lease requiring only a nominal rent thereafter.

Amid controversy over the opaque management of royal assets, a report by the NAO on royal estate income revealed that Andrew lived in a 30-room mansion virtually rent-free and pocketed the income from subletting three cottages on the estate.

The report also noted that although Andrew's daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, are not working members of the royal family, they have专属 apartments in royal palaces, with the rent covered by King Charles III's private income.

The UK Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is also expected to launch an investigation into royal assets this year.

Andrew, the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, was arrested by police in February due to his involvement in the scandal surrounding the late US sex offender financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Police at the time also searched his residence, the Royal Lodge, investigating allegations of misconduct while he held public office.

Andrew currently resides at Sandringham House in eastern England, which is the private property of the King. (Editor: Hung Pei-ying) 1150605
