The Hsinchu City Government announced today that starting November this year, junior high school students will be able to use a linked EasyCard to redeem one bottle of designated milk, soy milk, or yogurt drink per week at convenience stores and supermarkets. The program will continue during summer and winter breaks, integrating nutritional supplementation into daily life.

The Hsinchu City Government's Department of Education stated that starting November this year, students aged 12 to 15 who are registered or enrolled in public or private junior high schools in Hsinchu City can use a system-linked EasyCard at partner outlets to redeem one bottle of designated milk, soy milk, or yogurt drink per week.

Hsinchu City Mayor Ann Kao told CNA that the city government is promoting the 'Strong Bones for Every Student' policy. Considering the high demand for calcium and protein among junior high students, the policy provides a stable, convenient, and accessible nutritional supplementation mechanism to help children receive adequate nutrition during their critical growth period. It is expected to benefit 17,000 junior high school students.

Director of the Department of Education, Li-Sheng Lin, stated that this initiative uses an EasyCard-linked system integrated with partner channels, offering diverse redemption options such as convenience stores and supermarkets. This allows students and parents to flexibly pick up items according to their lifestyle, enhancing convenience and effectively reducing the administrative burden on schools.

The city government pointed out that it will continue to promote nutrition education and health promotion measures to encourage students to establish good eating habits, build a more comprehensive health support system, realize the 'Hsinchu Good Education' vision, and accompany children in their healthy growth.
