(Central News Agency, San Antonio, 4th) A fan ran onto the court during Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday, attempting to take a selfie with San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama. An NBA spokesperson said on Thursday that the individual has been issued a lifetime ban from all NBA venues.
The NBA spokesperson stated: "The individual who ran onto the court during Game 1 of the Finals has been arrested and will be banned from all NBA venues for life."
The spokesperson also mentioned that another individual involved in the incident has also been issued a lifetime ban from all venues.
The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finals, causing a temporary stoppage of play. The game ultimately ended with the New York Knicks defeating the Spurs 105-95 at the Spurs' home arena.
At the time, a fan holding a cell phone rushed onto the court, stopping in front of Wembanyama and Knicks player Mitchell Robinson before being pushed away and escorted off the court by security.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office in Texas told the San Antonio Express-News that the individual is a juvenile and therefore his name will not be released.
After the game, Wembanyama said: "I've never been in this situation before... I didn't know what to do at the time." (Editor: Chen Yanjun) 1150605
