(Central News Agency, Tokyo, June 5, 2025) Japanese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, weighed down by profit-taking pressure. Selling pressure was concentrated in artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor stocks.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 882.57 points, or 1.31%, to close at 66,588.12.
The broader Topix index ended down 2.76 points, or 0.07%, at 3,949.09.
